While studying In Chiapas\, she began exploring the\nworld of jazz and free improvisation where she found her way\nsince. Once\nhis classical training in both Mexico City and Vancouver came\nto a close in 2013 he came to Berlin\, because of his interest\nin German chamber music\, as well as a need to expand his creative\noutput. In recent years his focus has turned more towards musical\ncomposition (with el pulpo y el camaleón)\, linoleum printing\nand reciting poetry. Since 2023\, he works at dim things\,\nan experimental music venue. He has done live overhead projector\nvisuals alongside improvisers like Tom Kessler\, Miriam Leo\, Gustavo\nObligado\, Eli Piña\, Federico Sanchez and Giuseppe Bottiglieri.\nwww.dimthings.de \nELI PIÑA – SAXOPHON\nEli Piña is a saxophonist\, improviser\, musician\, vocalist\,\ncomposer\, and songwriter from Mexico City. Her artistic exploration\nseeks to create and destroy the ways of bringing the saxophone to\nlife\, incorporating movement\, percussion\, and voice as an organic\nextension of instrumental mechanics. The magazine Marvin describes\nher as one of the great new talents of the tenor saxophone in\nMexico City.
