Hi, I’m Samuel (a 23 years old Peruvian). I’m very gratefull because, in spite of being born with 8 congenital malformations, being dependent on a wheelchair , and being medically hopeless according to some doctors, I came to Poland for receiving a scientific treatment. Since I was a child, I’ve been pasionate about languages and world history, so, I’m happpy to be living in Wroclaw now. I want to share with you this miracle of life and thank you for joining this solidarity campaign for my life… there’s still way to go.
Languages and faith in God are wath strengthen me and give me hope… I speak Spanish, English and I’m learning Polish, German, French and Italian by my own. When I was 17 years old I published a little book called „9 del 9”, a little story about the victory of life and hope against death, and I still want to publish some other books. During 2018 I elaborated 10 projects aimed to improve the life quality of people with disabilities in my country. I’ve always been interested on politics and the social reality of my country, as well as international affairs.
Nevertheless, not everything has been happiness each day… In 2016, after receiving inappropriate medical treatment, I got infected with a hospital-related multiresistant bacteria at a hospital in Peru. I made resistance against the exisiting anthibiotics and my country no longer had the capacity to treat my health. Despite that, thanks to my passion for languages, I found out that in Poland and other European countries, there’s a „treatment with bacteriophages” which is able to combat the resistant bacteria and restore my immune system. It is so that in 2019 I got in contact with the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy in Wroclaw, because they develop this “treatment with bacteriophages”.
During 2019 and 2020 I received the “treatment with bacteriophages” in Wrocław twice and, even though the treatment was interrumpted because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, my health status has improved very much and now my famly is living in Wroclaw with me. It’s been more than 3 years that we’ve been living in Poland and I’m very gratefull because, besides the „treatment with bacteriophages”, this country has given me the oportunity to study the Bachelor on Political Science at the University of Wroclaw. Moreover, in 2022 I had a surgery to change my Pudenz Valve. In Peru I had been waiting more than 10 years for that surgery, that way, putting my life into risk.
I’d like to ask you that, together, we make this miracle of my life become even bigger. Soon I’ll have to retake the „treatment with Bacteriophages” in Wroclaw… We still have a lot to do for this world and my desire is that, whatever we do now, we do it with faith and giving the best of ourselves, because that is the only way to get a fruitful outcome.
